Your decision to be married is an important step in life.

Along with the promise of a happy and fulfilling life with your chosen partner you will also be entering into a legal state as recognized by Australian Law.

The beginning step in this process is to fill out and lodge a Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM) with your chosen celebrant.

This Notice must be lodged one month and one day before your chosen wedding date and no longer than 18 months prior to you special occasion. As dates are booked out in advance it is best to confirm your special date with me as soon as you can.

You may download the Notice of Intended Marriage from here. Please print out double sided if possible.

Both parties need to fill out this Notice Of Intended Marriage form and have their signatures witnessed by specified people or by the authorised marriage celebrant.

Lodging Notice Of Intended Marriage

The date your completed NOIM form is received in person or by fax or mail by a celebrant is your date of lodgment.

If your wedding date is so close that it is necessary to post your NOIM before we meet, please contact me immediately.

If you are posting or faxing your NOIM, you MUST have your signatures witnessed as indicated on the form e.g. JP, doctor, policeman, solicitor etc.

A local police station is easiest.

Otherwise I can witness your NOIM when we meet.
